LAHORE - Senior leader of PML-Q, Ch Moonis Elahi called CM Punjabs latest announcement regarding the launch of Lungar (public kitchen) scheme in Punjab as yet another hoax meant to deceive people and to extort public funds. He expressed these views while talking to office-bearers of PML-Qs Labour Wing at party office on Saturday. The lungar scheme was going to be another fraud with the people like the earlier sasti roti scam in which 30 billion rupees of public money had siphoned off, while the upcoming langar hoax was also bound to gobble further billions, he alleged. The people of Punjab could not be deceived this time and if any attempt was made to misappropriate public funds for political gimmickry, they would confront the rulers, asserted Ch Moonis. Punjab was not a province of charity seekers and the proud people of the province demand their constitutional right to live a better life instead of being humiliated through N-Leagues sham roti, atta and lungar schemes, he said. He blamed N-League for reducing Punjab once the bread-basket of the country to a food deficient region and for insulting the pride of its people by forcing them to stand in long lines for flour, sugar and other necessary food items.
