LAHORE Bilal Tahir won the 5th National Deaf Squash Championship which was played here at the Punjab Squash Complex from May 6 to 8. Tahir beat Bilal Attiq in a match of changing fortune in which the winner wilted a bit to come from behind after winning two games to lose the third and bounced to take the fourth and the match. Chairman PIAF Irfan Qaiser was the chief guest at the final and gave away the prizes to the winners and other participants. President Pakistan Deaf Squash Association Dr Khalid Jamil Akhtar, Honourary Secretary Punjab Squash Association Tariq Farooq Rana and Treasurer PSA Muhammad Mansoor were also present on the occasion. Bilal Tahir was going great guns having received little resistance in the first two games of the match but he lost concentration in the third game allowing Bilal Attiq to take charge. That dominance of Attiq did not last long and Tahir came back in the match in the fourth game to win the match. The final score: Bilal Tahir beat Bilal Attiq 11-9, 11-5, 9-11, 11-3; 31 min.
