FAISALABAD: The Livestock Department recovered 200 kilogram unhygienic meat from two houses during a crackdown here on Sunday. The dead meat was later disposed of.

On complaints by dwellers of the area, the team of Livestock Department along with policemen, raided two houses - owned by Afzaal and Noman - in Sir Syed Town in jurisdiction of Factory Area police.

During search, 200 kilograms of dead meat stocked in freezers was recovered. The culprits, however, managed to escape after getting information of the raid.

The meat was later disposed of by the Livestock staffers.

Neighbours of the fleeing accused said that the culprits used to bring huge quantity of meat from different cities, freeze it in big freezers in their homes and later supply it to shops and hotels.–Agencies
