Islamabad - Islamabad police have busted a gang of dacoits and also arrested six other outlaws, besides recovering wine, three pistols, ornaments and looted items from their possession, a police spokesman said yesterday.

He said that SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiani had assigned special task to SP (Investigation) Muhammad Ilyas to ensure arrest of those involved in dacoity incidents. He constituted a special team under the supervision of DSP Muhammad Hussain Lassi which started investigation into various incidents and succeeded to bust a gang of dacoits. The gangsters have been identified as Adnan, Kamran, Zain and Zahid. The police team recovered two illicit pistols, two stolen pistols, gold ornaments, two laptops, looted items, and stolen property from their possession.

During preliminary investigation, they confessed to strike at various houses in sector I-14. Further investigation is under way.

Furthermore, Karachi Company police arrested one Willson for having a total of 20 litres of wine while Secretariat police arrested Muhammad Zaigham and recovered one 30-bore illicit pistol along with ammunition from him. Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is under way.
