TOBA TEK SINGH-Dozens of relatives of a 45-year-old slain farmer of Chak 252-GB staged a protest demonstration in front of DSP’s office against Saddr police for refusing to register a murder case.

Ashfaq, the brother of Waqar, claimed that on April 26, his brother was called by accused Tahir and his accomplices to settle a dispute of money between the deceased and them. But, he said, they after exchanging harsh words strangled him to death in their house. He added that he gave an application for registration of a case but SHO Ali Raza verbally abused him instead of registering a case.

When contacted, the SHO said that the accused were claiming that deceased had died of heart attack however if autopsy report confirmed that he was strangled, the case will immediately be registered. He said the autopsy report had not so far been received to the police.

ACTION AGAINST ILLEGAL HOUSING COLONIES: The TMA demolished boundary walls and sealed booking offices of housing colonies constructed illegally in Tehsil Gojra here the other day.

During the operation, TMO Rana Muhammad Afzal got demolished the boundary walls of Canal View Town and Ismail Commercial City. The officials also sealed booking offices of the housing societies. The TMA also sealed a swimming pool, a restaurant, a private college, 16 shops and two commercial halls being constructed without approval.

PUBLIC COMPLAINTS: The district government noticed the inordinate delay in resolving public complaints about government departments by the district complaint cell.

Addressing the district complaint cell meeting here, DCO Amer Ijaz Akbar directed the officials concerned to ensure resolving all pending complaints within a week.

The DCO was briefed that a total of 34 out of 54 complaints have been resolved that were received from CM Secretariat. He was assured of the resolution of all complaints soon.
