ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court on Monday adjourned the hearing of Khawaja Asif case for two weeks due to lack of lawyer’s preparation.

A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali heard the plea, challenging Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Asif’s victory in Sialkot’s NA-110.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Usman Dar filed petition against Khawaja Asif’s victory and stated that the election was rigged.

Usman Dar’s lawyer told the court that Nadra has prepared its forensic report that has clarified the case, therefore, he requested to announce the verdict as early as possible.

Khawaja Asif’s counsel said that he has not received the report yet due to which he would not be able to argue.

Subsequently, the hearing was adjourned for two weeks.
