LAHORE - Lahore Division Commissioner Imdad Ullah Bosal has said that anti-dengue surveillance must be done at everywhere.

The commissioner was presiding over a meeting about action plan to control dengue on Tuesday. Kasur DCO, Nankana DCO, Sheikhupura ADC, Dr Wasim Akram, all Assistant Commissioners Lahore, All TMOs, DDOs Health, Entomologists and officers of PHA, WASA, LWMC and Fisheries also attended the meeting.

Bosal directed to initiate legal proceeding against the irresponsible people without any discrimination. He said that war against dengue could not be won without the cooperation of every resident and citizen of the society.

Showing his dissatisfaction over dengue surveillance activities in some union councils of Data Ganj Buksh Town, he instructed to repeat dengue sweep surveillance comprehensively. He took strict notice of accumulated sewerage water at different places and directed concerned officers to redress it within 24 hours. All TMOs of nine towns of Lahore and officers of different departments presented briefing regarding anti-dengue activities in the meeting.

Meanwhile, the Lahore Development Authority has invited proposals for designing gateways of Lahore to be constructed at two entry points of the city on Multan Road and Ferozepur Road.

Architects, designers and engineers have been asked to submit their proposals within 15 days for these gateways, which will be constructed at Multan Road between Shahpur interchange and Thokar Niaz Baig and at Ferozepur Road near Kahna.
