The Supreme Court on Monday has rejected apology of PML (N) leader Talal Chaudhary in contempt of court case.

A five-member bench headed by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar heard the intra court appeal of Talal Chaudhary.

The CJP asked Talal’s lawyer Kamran Murtaza, whom Talal call PCO judges and to whom he wanted to throw out of court?

To which, Kamaran said that Talal has confessed his mistake and want to apologize the court on the matter.

The top judge after playing the clip in the court asked Talal to come on the rostrum and explain his position.

Talal told the court that he talked about PCO judges, not the present judges of the court.

During his speech at Jarranwala rally in February this year, Chaudhry had said: “There was an era when the Kaabah was full of idols. Today, the judiciary, which is the country’s highest institution, is also full of PCO [Provisional Constitution Order] idols.”

The Supreme Court had initiated contempt proceedings against Chaudry on account of "derogatory and contemptuous speeches/statements" with regard to the court, according to a notification issued on February 2.

The SC on August 2, held PML-N leader in the contempt of court case and sentenced him till the rising of the court, effectively rendering him disqualified to contest elections for a period of five years
