QUETTA - Balochistan High Court (BHC) has issued notices to some print and electronic media for publishing and telecasting news of banned outfits.

The court also issued notices to Director General Public Relations Balochistan to appear before the court, on April 17th.

The notice was issued by a division bench of Balochistan High Court headed by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Esa and Justice Naheem Akhtar while hearing the case about kidnapped Advocate General Balochistan Salahud Din Mengal, here on Tuesday.

During the hearing, Zahoor Ahmed Shahwani of BHC Bar Association, Kamran Murtaza Advocate, Rehmatullah Bareech Advocate of Balochistan Bar Association, Qari Rehmatullah Advocate and DIG Operations Mubin Ahmed, CCPO Quetta Mir Zubair Mehmood and DSP and SHO Sariab Police Station appeared before the court.

Police authorities apprised the court that investigation into the kidnapping of former Advocate General Salahud Din Mengal was underway and they also produced a report before the court.

They requested the bench that they wanted to bring some facts before the court in judge’s chamber after that an in-camera briefing was given to the bench.

During the hearing, police authorities informed the court that police was striving to curb crimes incidents of kidnapping and for recovery of kidnapped persons and the murder of a police officer alongwith his guard was its example.

When the police authorities apprised the court that newspapers published the claim of Waja Baloch Liberation Army who claimed for the killing of DSP Amir Muhammad Dasti, publishing the news of Jesh Islam and telecasting the interview of Hakeemullah Mehsud by private channels, the bench expressed serious resentment and issued notices to the bureaus, Editors of newspapers, chief executives of TV channels, Director General Public Relations Balochistan.  The court was adjourned till April 17th.
