KARACHI - DHA Security and Vigilance in coordination with police contingent conducted effective raids on a number of Sheesha bars located on Khayaban-e-Sehar in DHA Phase-VI and confiscated the equipment and sealed the cafes.

This was the part of the ongoing campaign to close down all the Sheesha bars in DHA.

It may be recalled that Sheesha smoking has become a menace and is eating the vitals of the society. Sindh High Court and the interim government had already directed closure of all illegal Sheesha parlours operating in the area. Many parents have also requested the DHA to close down Sheesha bars in Defence which are instrumental in spreading waywardness in society.

DHA Director Security and Vigilance Brig (r) Azhar Manzoor said that DHA had enhanced security measures in Defence and was all out to ensure provision of secure, safe and peaceful living environment to residents. He said that DHA Vigilance would continue its efforts to close down Sheesha restaurants and vice dens operating in the area.
