LAHORE – Pakistan Railways setup three special trains for the Sikh Yatrees on Tuesday took strict security measures to facilitate Sikh Yatrees on the eve of Baisakhi festival.

Around 3000 Yatrees are arriving this year through Wagha Border to celebrate the festival at Nankana Sahib, Hassanabdal and Badami Bagh and other areas of the country. Their arrival is starting from Wednesday (today), said the Railways Police spokesperson. “On directions of Railways IG Syed Ibne Hussain, all SPs of the police are directed to arrange strict security plan while commandos have been deployed with the special trains,” said the spokesperson. He added that lady commandos had been deployed with the train for the security of Sikh women. Railway Police Bomb Disposal Staff had checked all empty racks and Railway Station Nankana Sahib, Lahore, Hassanabdal and Badami Bagh with the coordination of local district police and administration and a fool proof security rehearsal has also been conducted.

IGP Railways issued special direction to PRP staff for good behavior and conduct with the Sikh Yatrees so that they remember the services of PRP in their country, held the spokesperson.
