GUJRANWALA - Strong candidates from the PML-N and PPP face iron hand of scrutiny as many have been rejected while others have to face the law.

Former PML-N MPAs from PP-92 namely Salman Khalid Butt, Kamran Khalid Butt and Usman Khalid Butt were disqualified for evading tax and their arrest warrant had been issued on orders of Returning Officer Rao Abdul Jabbar.

Similarly, Lala Asadullah Papa, a PPP contestant from PP-92, withdrew his nomination papers as he owed Rs1.1 million to the Gepco.

Reportedly, Lala Asadullah Papa was asked to absolve himself of the default allegations but he instead withdrew his nomination papers.

Similarly, the PML-N stalwart Khurram Dastagir Khan from NA-95 and PTI candidate Kh Saleh from NA-97 were permitted to contest the elections.
