ISLAMABAD: Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal says China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC)  will help promote regional connectivity and economic activities. 

Addressing a function in Islamabad on Wednesday, he said regional cooperation is important pillar of economic progress. 

The minister invited private sector to come forward and play role for the development of the country and added that the Government will facilitate them. He said position of Pakistan has improved in the comity of nations as a result of economic reforms.

He pointed out that all out efforts are being made to eliminate terrorism and extremism from the country. He said Pakistan will not allow its soil to be used for terrorist activities against any country.

Ahsan said Pakistan wants to start trade activities with Central Asian Republics through Afghanistan. 

He said that infrastructure projects like CASA-1000 and TAPI will promote economic activities in the region.
