GUJRAT-Girls grabbed top positions in BA/BSc/BCom part-I and II annual examinations of the University of Gujrat held in April-May 2016.

According to the result declared by the UoG on Tuesday, all top positions were clinched by girl students. UoG Vice Chancellor Dr Ziaul Qayyum awarded the position-holders with certificates and cash prizes at a ceremony held at Hafiz Hayat Campus.

According to the result, Nighat Rasheed, a student of Punjab College for women Rehman Shaheed Road Gujrat Colony, bagged the first position in BSs annual exams by securing 701 marks. Palvasha Tahir from the same college captured second position with 690 marks. Amina Masood of Jalalpur Jattan’s Ibne Imam Science College was declared third with 681 marks.

In BA annual exams, the first position was held by Amina Bibi of Gujrat College for Commerce and IT (women) Bhimbar Road with 614 marks. The second position, with 610 marks, was bagged by Zakia Shaheen of Govt College (women) Kotla Arab Ali Khan. The third position in BA annual exams was won by Amina Zaheer of Phalia’s Ghazali College for Women. She secured 608 marks.

In Bcom annual exams, Sana Ansar of ILM College, Yunus Fan Building GT Road Gujrat, won the first position with 1,011 marks. Ameerur Rehman of Indus College for Commerce, Lalazar Colony, Mall Wah Cantt bagged the second position with 1,004 marks. Simaab Asif of Ibne Imam Science College in Jalalpur Jattan captured the third position in the Bcom annual exams.

First, second and third position holders were awarded cash prizes of Rs25,000, Rs20,000 and Rs15,000 respectively by the UoG VC.

According to the UoG controller (exams), 67.46 percent of the candidates appeared in the BSc exams, 44.11 percent in BA exams and 32.83 percent in Bcom were declared successful.

Students opting to apply for rechecking of their papers can do so within 20 days from the date of the result announcement. The rechecking application forms are available at Bank of Punjab branches at Fawara Chowk and Hafiz Hayat Campus, the press release said.

Supplementary exams will begin on October 4, 2016. Admission forms will be accepted till August 23 with single fee, after that double fee will be charged for admissions till August 31, 2016. Result intimation cards of regular students have been dispatched to their colleges while private students will get their result card at their residential addresses.
