LAHORE - A special event titled “Let a Hundred Flowers Bloom” will be held at Faiz Ghar on August 11 to commemorate minority day.

Renowned novelist and travelogue writer Mustansar Hussain Tarar will review “Leading Lights”, a book by Bushra Sultana. The book is a collection of profiles of people from marginalised communities of Pakistan who contributed exceptionally to their country. The findings of the book will also be presented in the form of a short video prepared especially for the event.

Another book “Beyond the Other” by Haroon Khalid will be reviewed by Shoaib Mir. The book highlights the roots of religious syncretism in Pakistan. The review will also be followed by a short video. Copies of the two books and their Urdu versions will be available at the venue.

11th August also happens to be the 78th birthday of one of our greatest novelists, Bapsi Sidhwa, who is also a patron of the Faiz Foundation.

In order to pay her a tribute, Moneeza Hashmi will read an excerpt from her book, followed by a short video about Bapsi Sidhwa.
