MOHMAND AGENCY - Insaf Students’ Federation (ISF) of Mohmand Agency staged a protest demonstration and walk against closure of annual scholarships program on Tuesday morning here at Mohmand tribal region. The protesters students were carrying flying cards and banners inscribe with slogans ‘resume FATA Scholarships Program’ and ‘Education is our basic right’.

The protest demo and walk started from Govt Post Graduate College of Management Sciences Ghalanai headed by ISF Mohmand Agency President Taief Khan. Talking on the occasion, ISF Mohmand Agency President Taif Khan said that many tribal students are studying in various education institutions in Pakistan, they submitted forms for attainment of FATA Annual Scholarship which is only 5000 rupees.  He said that FATA scholarships were closed by govt, which is totally injustice with tribal students. “Most of the tribal students are worried due to closure of annual scholarship because students considered it as a source of pocket money,” said Khan. They threatened that if the program was not resumed then they would be compelled to protest in the entire FATA and in front of Governor’s House.

They demanded of the federal government and Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to take notice of the issue and immediately resume the annual scholarship program for FATA students.
