LAHORE - The 1st NBP Golf Tournament concluded successfully at the Gymkhana Golf Course yesterday and after intense competition Aadil Jehangir, a player of national reckoning, ended up as the most successful one, playing the tournament exceedingly well with a gross score of 3 under par 69, with birdies on holes 1, 5, 7, 16 and 17 and bogies on holes 4 and 18; the other holes being parred through regulation shots. With 80 talented golfers to contend with the winner turned out to be the superb one leaving behind many amateurs of substance, like, Amir Mehmood, Shafiq Bhatti, Shakeel Ahmad, Zulfiqar Rana, Mohsin Zafar and Daanyal Jehangir.Yes, Shahid Khan did come with a fairly steady display, his round of 73 looking decent enough but just a little less spectacular.All the same Shahid won the runners up slot in the gross section followed by Imran Ahmad, third at a score of 75. Noticeable was some good golfing by the competitors fighting it out for honors in net section.The high achiever in this section was Amir Ali who chalked out the first net position for himself with a net round of 66.Ending up as runners up was Shazad Anwar with a score net 69 followed by Asfandyar at net 71.There was a tie for the third position between Asfand, Mian Ahsan, Mohsin Zafar and Saad Mehmood but Asfand won because of a better score on back nine.
