ISLAMABAD - The Central Selection Board (CSB) has recommended Dr Shaukat Hameed Kiani for the post of Executive Director Federal Government Services Hospital (FGSH) right after promoting him into grade 20 as Joint Executive Director FGHS. It has been learnt that Establishment Division (ED), on the recommendation of CSB, has forwarded summery to the Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani for appointing Kiani as new head of the FGSH, which is presently functioning under an acting head. Central Selection Board works under the Establishment Division and it comprises of 11 members and headed by the Chairman of the Federal Public Service Commission. Dr Syed Masood Ahmad Pasha, Acting ED FGSH has retired after expiration of his one-year contract four months back. However, he is still functioning on the directives of high ups in Ministry of Health till the appointment of new ED. The Central Selection Board is also considering for appointing again Dr Pasha as chest surgeon on one-year contract. After death of the Muhammad Chaudhry ex ED of FGSH in 2007, S.M.A Pasha was handed over the acting charge of FGSH ED. Dr Shaukat Kiani is a senor doctor of Federal Government Services Hospital and he has already served in different administrative posts at FGSH. FGSH commonly know, as Poly Clinic is a major public sector hospital of capital established in 1966. It is a 550 beds hospital and caters to a large number of people as daily 5000 to 6000 patients are treated daily in the main out door patients department.
