LONDON - Pakistan is against all forms of terrorism and its manifestations, as this menace poses serious threat not only to the security of Pakistan but also to the world at large and the country was extending full cooperation in war against terrorism. Our message to terrorists is clear and equivocal. We will not allow our territory to be used by the terrorists and we will not be daunted by their threats, said Pakistans Senate Chairman Farooq H Naek. Mr Naek was addressing representatives of the Pakistani community at the Pakistan High Commission, London, on Tuesday. The meeting was attended by a large number of Pakistanis settled in the UK, representing political, academic, business, and media. Serving and former MPs, mayors and councillors particularly discussed with him matters pertaining to Pakistani community, Pakistan-UK bilateral relations and role of Pakistan in the context of regional and international political scenario. The Senate chairman reiterated Pakistans stand for its sovereignty and said, While Pakistan is extending cooperation to eliminate terrorism, it will not allow foreign troops to operate inside its territory. Action in Pakistans territory is the sole prerogative of the Pakistani armed forces. Reposing his confidence in the Pakistani community, Mr Naek said we were proud to have such a forward looking and productive community that contributes about 20 per cent to the national economy through foreign exchange and remittances. He said the Pakistanis living abroad had always stood by the country through thick and thin and came up to expectations and aspirations in difficult times. You really and sincerely serve as the true ambassadors of Pakistan Mr Naek added. He called upon the British Pakistanis to continue their support for the rehabilitation of flood victims as 2 billion dollars were required for relief and rehabilitation. Earlier Pakistan s High Commissioner to the UK Mr Wajid Shamsul Hasan welcomed Mr Naek.
