LAHORE - Five more matches decided in the 58th National Hockey Championship which is in full swing at Faisalabad Hockey Stadium, Faisalabad, it was learnt here on Wednesday. In the first match of the day, Steel Mill beat PTV 5-2. Malik Imran netted two goals for winners in the 17th and 60th minutes (FG) while Alay Imran added and Imran Ali Khan one. For PTV, Waqas Ahmed Butt scored two goals in the 64th and 69th minutes (PS). In the second match, Navy beat Port Qasim 2-1. Sabir and Rao Nadeem hit one goal each in the 26th and 38th minute respectively. Abdul Haseem Khan made one in the 29th minute for losers. In the third match, Wapda beat Army 1-0. Sohail Abbas collected lone gaol in the 10th minute (PC). In the fourth match, PIA, SSGC match ended in a draw 0-0. In the last match, NBP beat HBL 2-1. Naeem Akbar and Akhtar Ali slammed one goal each in the 34th and 44th minute while for losers, the single goal came from Akbar Ali in the 23rd minute (FG). Olympian KM Junaid was the chief guest on last match between NBP and HBL. Four teams PIA, Wapda, NBP and SSGC qualified for the semi-finals to be played on February 12.
