GUJRANWALA - Back-to-back bombings targeting security personnel injured three people, triggering panic among the resident of the district. Two explosions occurred at the offices of the Crime Investigation Agency and Regional Police Officer respectively while the third took place at the residence of an ASP at the residential area of CPO office about two hours later, damaging the office buildings and the house. However, no loss of life was reported. In the first blast at the backside of the CIA office, its boundary wall collapsed, the windowpanes of offices of RPO and Special Branch, being situated near CIA headquarters, smashed, injuring an employee Muhammad Yamin. Security officials along with bomb disposal squad and rescue workers reached the site and defused two time devices of 5 kilogrammes each. They were busy carrying rescue and relief operation when another blast at the RPO office took place. The officials rushed to the second blast site. The third explosions went on at the residence of ASP Nida Rashid Chattha on the premises of the CPO office, wounding two guards. However, she remained safe as she was not at home. However, CPO Ghulam Mahmood Dogar told reporters such terror acts could shatter the morale of the police but the force would exhibit courage to thwart such attacks.
