President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday said Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) believed in the politics of reconciliation and tolerance and the historic achievements such as provincial autonomy, NFC Award, giving identity to Pakhtoons and Aghaz-e-Haqooq-e-Balochistan were dividends of this vision. The PPP, despite not having majority, has achieved what the political parties having two-third majority in the parliament in the past could not do, President Zardari remarked while addressing the families of PPP workers martyred during the movement for restoration of democracy and judiciary. The President, who distributed apartments ownership documents among the 40 families of the martyrs, said if today the PPP is winning over the political actors, it is only due to this tolerance as well as the politics of reconciliation. Zardari said the PPP leaders and 'Jialas including himself have learnt the lesson of tolerance from the hardships they always faced during the months and years of imprisonment. The President said he was following and taking forward the vision and mission of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, who always lived for the people and sacrificed their lives for the cause of democracy.
