OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has warned that laxity will not be tolerated in the execution of public-welfare projects, and directed that bureaucracy should ensure timely and transparent completion of uplift projects and remove all hurdles in this regard so that people could benefit from development schemes as early as possible. Issuing instructions for evolving a comprehensive monitoring system in Planning & Development Department, he directed that pace of progress of all major development projects should be reviewed on regular basis under the system. He was presiding over a meeting regarding Gujranwala Medical College project here on Monday. MNA Engineer Khurram Dastageer Khan, Senior Member Board of Revenue, Secretary Health, Commissioner and District Coordination Officer Gujranwala as well as Principal Gujranwala Medical College were present on the occasion. The CM said the responsibility of administration and departments concerned to remove all hurdles in the implementation of development projects for ensuring their timely completion. Expressing his indignation over the delay in the implementation of Gujranwala Medical College project, he directed that the entire work regarding the project should be completed by June 15. He further directed that the land for the college should be acquired during the current financial year. He directed that acquisition of land for major development projects should not be linked with PC-1 in future. Earlier, Commissioner and District Coordination Officer Gujranwala gave a detailed briefing regarding the medical college project. It may be mentioned that classes had already been started in Gujranwala Medical College.
