OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE The government should establish an education city and all educational institutions should be shifted there, as mushroom growth of schools and colleges in every nook and corner is creating multiple problems. The Convener of LCCI Standing Committee on Infrastructure Ilyas Majeed Sheikh raised this demand in a committee meeting here Monday. The establishment of the education city will help reduce a number of vehicles on roads, thus ensuring smooth traffic flow which would ultimately reduce goods transportation time, he observed. Sheikh urged authorities to prepare a comprehensive action plan to cope with shopkeepers, who have encroached upon govt land, citing, the encroachers were not only depriving the genuine businessmen of their due rights but also creating undue troubles for commuters. The committee also decided to invite the Lahore DCO to the LCoCI to share with him infrastructure-related problems faced by the business community.
