OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE A 65-year-old retired railway inspector was gunned down by a dacoit after he made noise during a dacoity bid in Nishtar Colony police precincts in the wee hours on Monday, sources said. The deceased was identified as Khursheed Ahmed, a resident of the same locality. He had been residing along with his wife and a step daughter since long. Police investigators associated with the case say the man was killed by unidentified robber, who sprayed bullets on the deceased seconds after he raised voice seeing the robber in his home at about 4:30am. He awoke early on Monday and was going to offer Fajir prayer but when he reached in garage, an unknown dacoit who had entered him home opened straight fires on his legs, they said, adding the man suffered multiple bullet injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital where he breathed his last. Later, the body was handed over to the bereaved family after police completed necessary medico-legal formalities. A case has been lodged with no arrest till filing of this report.
