SIALKOT - Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister Mansha Ullah Butt has said that the Punjab government was making all-out sincere efforts for the early establishment of Sialkot-Swedish International Engineering University and Small Industrial Estate in Sialkot, as these projects would be helpful in providing the skilled labour and work force to the industries. Talking to the party workers here, he said that the PML-N government in Punjab had started construction work of several development and social welfare oriented schemes to beautify District Sialkot. Mansha Ullah Butt revealed that the CM had provided a special grant of Rs400m for the uplift and beautification of Sialkot. He said that the reconstruction of main Sialkot-Daska-Gujranwala Road, Sialkot-Eimanabad Road, reconstruction of the narrowed small bridges over Naullah Aik near Doburji Malhiyaan and Naikapura-Sialkot was briskly underway. He added that the remodelling and alignment of Nullah Bhed was also under way with total cost of Rs72 million for saving the city from the flood threats through this Naullah, which passes though all the congested residential, commercial and industrial areas of the city. Mansha said that Punjab government had also provided six acres of land to Govt Postgraduate College for Women Sialkot, where the new blocks containing additional classrooms and play ground would soon be established for catering the growing educational and extra-curriculum activities of the students. Provincial government had also released a special grant of Rs40 million for the repairing, renovating the ancient buildings of Govt Jamia High School Sialkot and Govt Pilot High School Sialkot, besides, providing all the basic missing facilities there, he added. Mansha Ullah Butt said that the provincial govt was also acquiring more than 100 acres of land in the outskirts of Sialkot city for the early establishment of District Complex there. Under this plan, the DSCs, offices of the District Administration, Sialkot District Jail and Civil Lines would be shifted to this proposed district complex. He said that new recreational parks would also be established at all of this land to be vacated after the said shifting, for providing the advanced recreational facilities to the local people. Meanwhile, Mansha Ullah Butt led an anti-dengue awareness raising walk taken out in Daska city here Saturday. The hundreds of the people from all walks of life participated in the walk, which began from Civil Rest House Chowk and ended at Fawara Chowk after passing through all the main inter-city roads. The participants were carrying banners and placards. PML-N Daska Leader and former MNA Sahibzada Iftikharul Hassan, MPAs Ch Jamil Ashraf Baryar, Ch Yahiya Gul Nawaz, Ch Ikhlaq Ahmed, Assistant Commissioner Daska Khalid Iqbal, President Patients' Welfare Society Sialkot District Zafar Malik, Sialkot Press Club Senior Vice Chairman Abid Hussain Mehdi, Bashir Ahmed Naz, TMO Tahir Nadeem Sindhu and other officials were also present on this occasion. While delivering his speech, Mansha Ullah said that the Punjab government would provide the anti-dengue fumigation machines at union council level across Punjab, as the provincial government was making adequate efforts to curb the menace of the dengue fever. He said that the Punjab Chief Minister had already put the government on high alert against dengue. He stressed upon the need of making all out sincere individual and collective joint efforts overcome the menace of dengue fever.
