LAHORE – The trials to select Punjab women football for National Women Championship were held here at the Punjab Stadium on Tuesday. The trials were supervised by Punjab coaches Asghar Anjum Khan, Zainab Mushtaq and Shehzad while Punjab Football Association (PFA) President Sardar Naveed Haider Khan and PFA Council member Ch Faqeer Muhammad were also present on the occasion to make sure the fair and transparent trials. A total of 76 players from all over Punjab participated in the trials while 31 were picked up for training camp . Speaking on the occasion, Sardar Naveed said: “The three-year turmoil has almost halted every kind of footballing activity, and women football suffered the most. Now we have started the from the ashes and hopefully under the dynamic leadership of PFF President Makhdoom Faisal Saleh Hayat, football will flourish once again and not only male players but also female players will get their due rights, earn handsome financial benefits through tournaments and get maximum international events as well, which will surely help in improving the standard of Pakistan football.
