The first attempt by the British MPs of criticizing US policies towards Pakistan is a positive step. On the other hand, they have also said that FATA is a hub of terrorism and there is a need to eliminate Taliban from FATA before peace and stability can be brought to Afghanistan. Why, isn't that an indirect support of the US policies too? What they are effectively saying is that the US policies are wrong but US presence in FATA necessary. Why are they trying to make Pakistan vulnerable by supporting operations of outside powers? Why is everyone trying to push Pakistan in a corner?-MUNAZZA SABIR, Rawalpindi, via e-mail, August 4.
