PESHAWAR - One person was killed and three others got injured in a remote-controlled bomb blast, apparently planted to target members of peace committee, outside Mattni Bazaar here on Monday. Police sources revealed that the target was Nazim Adezai Abdul Malik, however, his vehicle passed by safely from the site just a few minutes earlier to blast. The blast partially damaged the nearby houses, besides killing a person and injuring three others. The rescuers rushed towards the site and shifted the injured persons to Lady Reading Hospital. The deceased was identified as Adil while injured persons included Saleem, Ibarahim and Dilawar. Soon after the incident, Chief Capital City Police Sifawat Ghayyoor and SSP Operations Ghafoor Afridi reached the spot. Talking to media persons, the Chief Capital City Police confirmed the casualties. He said the situation was improving with each passing day and soon the criminal gangs would be wiped out from the outskirts of Peshawar. It is worth mentioning here that militants also attacked Arbab Tapo Check Post on late Sunday night with three rockets, however no casualty was reported.
