LAHORE - The Lahore High Court Monday accepted the petition of Jamatud Dawa (JuD) Chief Hafiz Muhammad Saeed for putting a ban on exhibition of an upcoming Indian movie “Phantom” in Pakistan. The court also had issued notice to the federal government to submit reply by August 13.

Jamatud Dawa Chief Hafiz Saeed had filed petition through his counsel Advocate AK Dogar and submitted that the film contains venom against Pakistan and JuD.

He said apparently the film is about the 2008 Mumbai attacks and global terrorism. However, he stated, a filthy propaganda has been done in the film against Pakistan under subject of the world terrorism. He further submitted that the superior courts of Pakistan have already rejected the claims of Indian government about involvement of his organization or any leader in the Mumbai attacks. He prayed the court to ban the exhibition of “Phantom” in Pakistan for being an anti Pakistan content.
