Islamabad - Finally, the finance ministry allocated Rs140 million yesterday for the payment of salaries to daily-wage staff of schools and colleges protesting for the last 24 days for wages and regularisation of services.

Summary for the release of funds forwarded by State Minister of CA&DD  Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhary has been approved by Finance Minister, Senator Ishaq Dar who has ordered swift payment of salaries which had been due for the last nine months.

It may be noted that the daily wages employees of FDE came out on streets because of non-payment of salaries last month. There are almost 890 daily wages employees working under FDE. The finance minister has approved an amount to the tune of Rs140 million in this regard.  It is worth mentioning that this release of funds will solve the issue of salaries of daily wages employees till 30th June of next year.   Daily Wages employees were jubilant over the decision but at the same time expressed their reservation over the longstanding issue of regularisation that remained unresolved.
