LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has directed that the Land Record Computerisation Project should be completed without further delay and all out resources should be utilised for this purpose. He also directed that solid and practicable recommendations should be submitted to him within next few days after considering all aspects for the early completion of the project. He was addressing a meeting here on Friday, which reviewed the Land Record Management and Information System Project regarding computerisation of revenue record of the province. Senior Member Board of Revenue, Secretary Information Technology and Project Director Land Record Computerisation were also present on the occasion. Senior Member Board of Revenue and Project Director apprised the meeting of the pace of land record computerisation project. On this occasion, Shahbaz Sharif said the Land Record Computerisation Project had been delayed and now it was the responsibility of the present government to complete this project in a transparent manner as early as possible so that the people could be rid of the obsolete system and the traditional role of Patwaris should also be minimised. He directed that the Project should be completed as soon as possible by removing all flaws so as to facilitate the people in acquiring the record of their land as well as eliminate the chances of forgery in the registration of property. He further directed Senior Member Board of Revenue to prepare a road map about the project and give a detailed briefing in this regard during next week.
