LAHORE - Chicken prices have shown an upward trend ahead of the wholy month of Ramazan as the chicken meat is selling in different localities of the provincial capital at Rs 270-Rs 280. The unusual raise in chicken prices is stated to be short supply of poultry birds from the farms in the last few days. Poultry industry sources said that around 30 per cent poultry products are being smuggled to Afghanistan and some other neighbouring countries. The chicken was the only commodity which common man could buy and afford because of its low price.
