LAHORE - Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Muhammad Amin Wains has said that the police would provide foolproof security cover to the people at religious places during the holy month of Ramazan. He also called upon religious leaders and people to cooperate with the police to maintain peace and harmony.

He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting held to review security arrangements for the holy month at Police Lines Qila Gujjar Singh on Wednesday.

DIG (Operations) Dr Haider Ashraf and SP (Security) Liaqat Ali Malik also attended the meeting. Members of District Peace Committee including Allama Mushtaq Hussain Jaffery, Hafiz Kazim Raza Naqvi, Khawaja Basharat Hussain Karblai, Touqeer Baba, Agha Shah Hussain Qizalbash, and Syed Khurum Abbas Naqvi were also present on this occasion besides others religious leaders.

On this occasion, the CCPO urged the religious scholars to ensure proper coordination with the police as far as security arrangements for the religious places are concerned. He also said that a comprehensive security plan has been evolved to maintain peace and harmony in the provincial metropolis during Ramazan. Similarly, the police would continue search operations against the suspected elements in the city.
