RAWALPINDI - Chairman Standing Committee on Population Welfare PML-N MNA Muhammad Hanif Abbasi on Sunday said that on the directions of Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif the relief goods for the internally displaced persons of Swat, Buner and Dir were being dispatched at the earliest. He said this during a press conference held at NA-56 Public Secretariat. On this occasion PML-N MPAs and other office bearers were also present. Abbasi informed that a relief convoy by Anjman-e-Tajran Lahore was on its way carrying edibles and medicines would reach Mardan Relief Camp next week. He said that for the medical treatment, the provincial government would also send a team of doctors and paramedical staff to the makeshift IDPs camp. He said that Punjab government had also sent out 10 trucks carrying relief goods including rice, flour, sugar, medicines and other edibles to IDPs camps while 90 more relief goods laden trucks would also be dispatched soon. PML-N MNA said that people in Swat were facing shortage of basic amenities like clean drinking water, cots and tents. Some 5,000 metric tons of wheat under the UNO Food Programme will also be provided to the IDPs in these troubled areas. He also appealed the Overseas Pakistanis to help out the IDPs in this time of need. Commenting on examination scam by PML-N MNA Haji Perviz Khan, Hanif Abbasi denied his involvement in this. However, he hailed the decision of party leadership in this regard.
