LAHROE Hajj & Umra Organisers Association (HUOA) Chairman Salman Tahir has asked the government to announce national Hajj policy in the month of Rabiul Awal every year. He also demanded that flights for Saudi Arabia on the occasion of Hajj be increased. Speaking at Aiwan-e-Waqt here on Monday, he said that late announcement of Hajj policy might cause problems for the people this year, and pilgrims would have to face tribulations in getting their international passports in time. He said that other countries including India had completed the process and secured residences near the holy cities of Mecca and Madina. He demanded of the government to establish quick banking system through which money could be transferred easily to pilgrims in Mecca and Madina as the organizers could not travel with huge amounts. He urged the government to reverse its decision of guarantee amount, which was increased from Rs one lakh 80 thousands to nine lakh by the Tourist Services Department. HUOA General Secretary Ehsanullah informed that according to the Hajj policy of Saudi government no single person could be able to perform pilgrimage if he/she would not have the international passport. He asked the pilgrims to keep their international passports with them to avoid any untoward happening. In reply to a query, he said that the Association would organize training programmes for guidance of the pilgrims before the journey.
