LAHORE - A delegation of eminent players in different sports called on former Punjab Chief Minister M Shahbaz Sharif and thanked him for promoting healthy sports activities in the province during his tenure.  The 61-member team included sportspersons in the hockey, squash, badminton, swimming, weightlifting, athletics, bodybuilding and other games. The delegation also included a lady athlete. The sportsmen said they were thankful to the former CM for promoting the games, constructing new stadiums, swimming pools and a number of playgrounds. The ex-CM said during his tenure, he set up Rs 10 billion endowment funds which would annually earn Rs 100 million to cater to the educational and sports activities of around 40,000 youngsters. – Staff Reporter
