LAHORE - A civil judge has issued arrest warrants of PML-Q MPA Sardar Dildar Cheema for failing to appear before the court in a contempt of court proceeding initiated against him. The bailable arrest warrants has been issued for November 18. The court passed this order on the petition of M/s Bestow Interiors filed through its chief executive Faisal Khan. The petitioner pleaded that the MPA had signed an agreement with his company to carry out interior designing at his Park Plaza Hotel at Gulberg against payment of Rs 30 million. He pointed out initially the MPA kept on paying all running bills but later he stopped doing so. The petitioner said he kept on working despite stoppage of payment that badly affected his work. He said finally on December 3, 2008, the MPA asked his company to stop work at his hotel and submit bills for the work that was completed at that time. The petitioner said he approached the court that passed a restraining order against the MPA and allowed his (petitioner) company to continue its work. The court also restrained MPA from interfering in his work and assigning task of interior work to any body else. He said he contacted the MPA in the light of courts order but he neither responded nor allowed him to resume work at his hotel. He said the MPA also hired another company to complete interior design work in violation of courts order. The court summoned the MPA but he did not turn up despite receiving the courts notices. The petition prayed the court to punish the MPA under contempt of court law.
