KARACHI - PPP Vice President Makhdooam Amin Faheem is likely to oath take as senior minister in the federal cabinet, reliable sources told The Nation here on Friday. They said that Amin Fahim is expected to be included into the cabinet after President's upcoming visit to China next week. Further expansion in the cabinet is also expected after the visit of President Zardari to China, sources added. PPP circles claimed that it was the joint strategy of the party to counter the hostile tactics of anti-PPP forces and set up government at the centre and in provinces in coalition with other political parties. The sources added that Makhdooam Amin Faheem had also played a key role to convince the power troika to withdraw support to former military dictator Pervez Musharraf. They said that top party leadership including Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani had asked Makhdooam Amin Faheem to join the federal cabinet as senior minister. The sources added that PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari nominated Yousuf Raza Gilani as the prime minister to further strengthen the party in Punjab. Makhdooam Amin Faheem's son, Makhdooam Jameel, who had tendered his resignation from the ministry in Sindh government, has also re-joined the provincial cabinet.
