LAHORE Afghan FC, KRL, Pakistan Navy and PEL earned victories in the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) on Sunday. Faisalabads PMC Athletico Club suffered 0-1 defeat against visiting Afghan FC at PMC Ground, Faisalabad. The all important match winner was scored by striker Najib Khan in the 82nd minute. Saad Ullah returned from field as hero as PEL managed 2-1 win over 10-men HBL at Model Town Football Academy Ground, Lahore. The hard tackling match converted the bankers into ten-men when referee showed red card to Abid Hussain for a reckless 49th minute challenge on PELs stopper Asif Javed just outside the area. The match was sweetly-balanced 1-1 at interval. Saad gave PEL the lead in the 18th minute when he side stepped host of defenders before tapping the ball into left corner. Six minutes later, HBLs Abdullah fumbled sitter when keeper Saqib Hanif was at his mercy. Abdullah of Chaman, made amends for his earlier mistake to make it 1-1 in the 29th minute. Saad was also involved in PELs 90th minute decider. His cross from left caused panic in bankers area as ball popped out of Dilawar and Muzaffar Ali smash the ball in. KRL recorded their third win in eight matches when they overwhelmed KPT 1-0 at Municipal Stadium Rawalpindi. Muhammad Shahid was instrumental in giving three full points to KRL with 70th minute goal. The same pitch saw Rizwan getting applause as Navy slammed closing minutes clincher to beat NBP 2-1. It was Navys second win the competition with Rizwan scoring twice in the 6th and 87th minute. NBPs scorer was Adil Ahmed in the 21st minute as half time score was 1-1. Rizwans contribution also helped him become Navys best scorer in the event - scoring two of seamens five goals so far. There will be no match on Monday.
