LAHORE The Pakistan Cricket Board has issued a notice to former captain Younus Khan warning him of legal proceedings if he did not contact the PCB within a week to resolve his case. A PCB appellate tribunal has removed indefinite ban on Younus but the PCB has insisted he must first meet chairman Ijaz Butt before he can be cleared to play for Pakistan again. A PCB source said that a notice was sent to Younus on Saturday in which he had been given one weeks time to contact them and resolve the issue. If he doesnt contact us in a weeks time with reference to his case, then we will issue him a fresh showcause notice and move to re-impose the ban on him, the source said. The notice to Younus apparently is a move to pressurise the former captain as there has been growing public anger and criticism from former players over the PCBs refusal to consider Younus for the national team. Former chief selector Iqbal Qasim criticised the PCB for targetting Younus. Younis omission is a case of ego problem, Qasim said. Not selecting him in spite of his ban (being) overturned is an injustice and is definitely a loss to the team, he said Another former chief selector, Abdul Qadir, urged the PCB and Younis to resolve the issue.
