LAHORE-The PTI, Lahore chapter on Sunday dispatched trucks loaded with various relief items for flood victims of DG Khan, said a press release issued by partys media cell. PTIs Lahore President, Mian Mahmoodur Rashid, Additional General Secretary Dr. Atifuddin, Sadia Saif, Mian Tariq Mahmood, Ishtaiaq Malik and Rana Akhtar Hussain dispatched these trucks from partys regional office at Jail Road. The PTI has so far sent 78 truck loads of edibles, blankets and clothes to the flood affected areas, the release further said. JI slams govt Ameer Jamat-e-Islami Punjab Dr Syed Wasim Akhtar has said that price-hike has made difficult for a common man to make both ends meet. He claimed that only in Punjab more than 20 million people were living under the poverty line and they could only earn Rs60 daily. He expressed these views while talking to the delegations visited his office on Sunday. He said that after the take over of present allied government the electricity rates have been boosted up to 150 percent. Syed Wasim said that corruption was committed on high level in the purchase of rental power plants since government at the time of purchase claimed that these plants would be able to create 4500 MW electricity but during last one year only 150 MW was added in the previous power generation. He said that countrys economy was shattered but government is seeking further loan of US$ 7 billion from IMF for payment of its debts.
