ISLAMABAD The Executive Board meeting of NAB held Wednesday authorised to hold an inquiry against PMDC Secretary Dr. Muhammad Sohail Karim Hashmi, Secretary and Accountant Muhammad Ismail Fazali for allegedly causing a loss of Rs 21 million to the department by misusing their authority. The department has also written to the Ministry of Interior to place the names of these persons on the Exit Control List. It was also decided to initiate verification of charges of malpractices in the Ministry of Housing and Works against corruption and corrupt practices of officers. It was also decided to hold an inquiry in a case of fraud committed by the owner of M/s Century Consulting Services, Lahore, referred to NAB by the Supreme Court. While declining to approve the filing of a reference in a particular case, the Acting Chairman observed not to bring the incomplete cases to the Executive Board meeting. He urged that the officers at headquarters to be more prudent in examining the cases and be precise in the preparation of references, so that the same could stand the test of trial in accountability courts.
