Pakistan released 26 Indian fishermen from Karachi’s Malir jail on Sunday as goodwill gesture.

The released Indian fishermen were shifted to Cantt Railway Station and will be transported to Lahore; from there, they would be sent to India through Wagah border.

The released fishermen were presented with gifts and cash prizes by the jail authorities. All of the fishermen had been arrested by the authorities as they trespassed into Pakistani waters territory.

The Indian prisoners appreciated the way they were treated by Pakistani jail authorities and were delighted upon their release. They also said that upon reaching India, they will request the Indian authorities to release Pakistani prisoners in reciprocation.
