GUJRANWALA/MULTAN-One person died and three others injured in two roof collapse incidents occurred in different cities on Monday.

Rescue sources said that roof of a factory located near Sheikhupura Morr in Gujranwala suddenly came down. One person present in the factory was buried under the debris and died. The rescue teams rushed to the scene and pulled out the body from rubble and shifted it to hospital. Similarly, three children were injured when roof of a house collapsed in Shujaabad area of Multan. The injured children were rescued and shifted to hospital.

Cop booked for 'killing' couple

TOBA TEK SINGH-City police arrested a police van driver for allegedly killing a couple and injuring their minor son by hitting his van against their motorcycle.

Complainant Faryad Ali of Chak 401-JB Dabban Wala said in the FIR that his deceased brother Munawar Ali, his wife Zahida Perveen and five years old son Irfan were returning to the village from Faisalabad by their motorcycle on Toba-Akalwala road. Meanwhile, a speedy police van driven by Sajjad hit their bike as a result his brother and his wife had died instantly while their son was in critical condition at Faisalabad Allied hospital, he said.

On the other side, a police constable received Rs 25,000 bribe from a woman against whom the ACE registered a case. Pirmahal police cop Nasir Ahmad had accepted bribe from complainant Khurshid Bibi to help her in the case.

An inquiry conducted by ACE officials into the allegation against the cop found him guilty. The ACE staff was conducting raids to arrest the cop.
