OKARA - Commissioner Sahiwal Division Qazi Mohammad Ashfaq has directed the officials concerned to accelerate campaign against adulterators and profiteers and ensure availability of daily-use items at stable rates. Presiding over a high level meeting here at the Okara DCO Office, the commissioner directed the DCO to supervise the operation against adulterators, hoarders and profiteers himself. He asked the officials to show zero tolerance for hoarders and profiteering and deal such elements with an iron hand. The meeting was attended by DCO Saif Anjum, Assistant Collector, TMOs and other officers concerned. He also directed the magistrates to conduct raids themselves instead of depending upon the working staff for the same. He further instructed to gear up operation against land grabbers without any discrimination. While briefing the Commissioner, the DCO apprised that state land worth millions of rupees had been retrieved illegal occupants during the clean-up drive. He said that the action against land grabbers was in progress and no leniency would be meted out to any one involved in the malpractice. DCO reviews arra-ngement for anti-polio drive: DCO Saif Anjum presided over a meeting to review the arrangements made by the district administration for the upcoming anti-polio campaign. The meeting was attended by EDO (Health) Dr Tanveer Ahmad, DO (Health) Dr Ashraf Javed, DO (Population) Rai Samiullah and other officials concerned. Following the meeting, Saif Anjum said during the drive, mobile teams would go to remote areas of the district to avert the chances of missing target. He also issued directives to administer drops to the people of remote areas. EDO (Health) Dr Tanveer Ahmad told the meeting that during three-day anti-polio campaign scheduled to be commenced on July 18, about 452,635 children will be immunised and for the purpose, 941 mobile and 136 other teams have been formed, which will go from door to door.
