SHEIKHUPURA - The Tehsil Municipal Administration Sheikhupura in collaboration with Pakistan Calligraph Artists Guild organised a weeklong calligraphy art exhibition and one day art workshop at district Gymnasium Sheikhupura on Monday. The exhibition was inaugurated by District Coordination officer Ibrar Ahmed Mirza and Mrs Ibrar Ahmed while MPA Haji Ghulam Nabi, EDO Finance Afzaal Hussain, EDO Agriculture, EDO CD, DO information Imran Maqbool, Administrator TMA Kiran Khurshid and a large gathering of local citizens were present on the occasion. While talking to the media persons, DCO Abrar Ahmed Mirza stated that the Muslim community was true inventor of calligraphy in the world and calligraphy played a positive role in society. Mr Abrar further said that it was for the first time in the history of Sheikhupura that a calligraphy exhibition was going to be organised. He stated that it was healthy activity and District Government would carry out all its efforts to provide relief to citizens by organizing such type of exhibitions. While talking to the media persons the administrator TMA Sheikhupura Kiran Khurshid revealed that under local government ordinance, this calligraphy exhibition was being arranged and in future drama festivals would also be organized. He appreciated the TMA efforts in this regard. Earlier, the DCO along with his wife observed various pieces of arts inscribed with name of Allah, the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and Quranic verses. More than 400 hundred calligraphic pieces have been put on the display during the exhibition.
