LAHORE - Three people succumbed to heat in different parts of the city on Tuesday, police and hospital sources said.

A 25-year-old was going to a market when all of a sudden he fell on the road and fainted instantly outside Kashmiri Hotel in the Lorry Adda police limits. He was rushed to a hospital, where he died. Hospital sources said the man, unidentified so far, succumbed to scorching heat.

Meanwhile, two men were killed in similar incidents in the Bhatti Gate and Misri Shah areas. Police said both the unidentified men were drug addicts, who lost their lives because of sizzling weather on Tuesday noon. The bodies were shifted to the morgue for autopsy.

The provincial capital experienced sweltering weather with high temperature until Tuesday evening. However, heavy downpour brought relief in the town on Tuesday evening.


A 25-year-old man was found murdered from the fields in the Shahdara police area on Tuesday. The man, unidentified so far, was lying dead in the field near Barkat Town as police reached the spot. Some passersby spotted the body and informed the police. The body was shifted to the morgue for autopsy.  Police investigators say they believe unidentified men strangled the man to death and escaped after throwing his body in the fields a couple of days ago. The police have registered a murder case against unidentified killers and are investigating.
