LAHORE - A seven-member delegation of Chinese investors met Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, on Thursday.

Matters regarding investment in information technology, infrastructure, logistic and other sectors came under discussion in the meeting. Chinese investors expressed keen interest in investment in these sectors in the province.

Talking to Chinese delegation, the chief minister said that highly conducive atmosphere for the investment has been created in the province wherein all necessary facilities are being provided to the investors under one roof. He said that the Punjab Investment Board is playing a pivotal role in resolving problems of investors and providing them necessary facilities. He said that Chinese investment in different sectors of Punjab would be welcomed and the government would provide them all out cooperation.

The CM issued instructions for setting up a joint committee of Chinese investors and ministers and officials on the issue.

and said that the committee would present formal recommendations regarding proposed projects of Chinese investors in the province.

He said that Pakistan and China are bound in strong ties of friendship and Chinese President has announced a historic economic package of 46 billion dollars during his visit to Pakistan. He said that the projects of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor will stabilize the economy of the country.

The chief minister said that the projects for the whole country are included in CPEC and the people of the entire country will benefit from these projects while it will also leave a positive impact on the economy of the region. He said that government of Pakistan is taking speedy measures for implementation of CPEC projects.

The Chinese investors during the meeting expressed their interest in investment in information technology, infrastructure and logistic sectors.
