RAWALPINDI - Accountability Court (AC) Rawalpindi No 3 sent former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mian Amin to Adiala Jail on judicial remand in a NAB reference of illegal assets against him here on Tuesday. The AC sent the accused Mian Amin to Adiala Jail in a National Accountability Bureau (NAB) reference in which he was alleged of accumulating illegal assets and adjourned the hearing till Wednesday (today). While taking up the case today, the court would also decide on another application filed by the accused seeking class A in Adiala jail. In the reference, it was alleged that Mian Amin who served as IGP Sindh, Punjab and Islamabad, illegally accumulated assets worth Rs 145 million. In his assets, 20 residential plots and 6 commercial plots were included besides many bank accounts in Pakistan and foreign countries. Earlier, an Accountability Court had sentenced him three years imprisonment in absentia as he fled the country after NAB filed the reference against him. Later, the court had acquitted him from the reference after the promulgation of NRO. After the cancellation of aforementioned ordinance, proceedings were restarted against him and NAB arrested him after a Division Bench of LHC rejected his bail application on Monday.
